Electromagnetic forming is achieved by a system consisting of an equipment, a tool (coil) and a workpiece. The success of the deformation process depends on the equipment's parameters, the tool characteristics and the properties of the workpiece material. Finite element software FLUX2D was used for electromagnetic parameter simulation in the case of a device with flat spiral coil, used for the following...
This paper deals with the magnetic field generated by medium‐voltage/low‐voltage substations. Particularly, the paper focuses on the computation of the distance of compliance that is defined as the minimum distance from a field source for having field levels lower than a given threshold. In the first part of the paper, some 3D integral models are proposed to compute the magnetic field generated by...
In this paper, electromagnetic and thermal analyses are performed on underground power solid‐conductor cables under harmonic and unbalancing currents. The loss, life time, and produced magnetic field are calculated. Different balanced and unbalance load currents and also sinusoidal and harmonic profiles are considered. Moreover, the effects of different distances between cables are analyzed. Power...
The morphology analysis of arc plasma inside a low‐voltage circuit breaker is a practical approach to investigate its current interruption performance. It is a typical ill‐posed problem to determine the arc current distribution from the induced magnetic field of arc plasma. The regularization method has been proven effective in solving inverse magnetic problems. However, the arrangement of current‐carrying...
The electron transmission through a system of two orthogonal quantum rings in a magnetic field with one input and two output wires is studied. It is shown that the transmission to only one of the two output leads can be governed by a change in the construction orientation in respect to the field. A model of nonplane quantum graph embedded in three‐dimensional space is used.
