This chapter explains stock of the measurement dimensions required for the study of a complex system and defines a working plan to better measure its competitiveness. To improve the competitiveness of an enterprise, it requires implementing processes of which the management and organization must prioritize time. A sustainable production system (SPS) performs a set of operations while consuming and rejecting “resources”︁. These are “material”︁ transformations of morphological or spatial features, anatomical or functional components, social or societal characteristics, and informational contents. The chapter also represents a major transition toward a sustainable society where the value is embedded in the relationship. Certainly, the number of dimensions of a system has evolved over time, from the time when we devoted most of our time and efforts to crafting, until today, while large systems are considered and characterized with a lot of allocated resources and distributed subsystems, everywhere on our planet.
