Due to the poor view into the long, narrow oral cavity of lagomorphs and rodents, special instruments are necessary for intraoral examinations and manipulations. These include: different mouth gags and cheek dilators, tongue‐grasping pincers, metal or wooden spatula of a suitable size, periodontal probe, mouth mirrors,special headlamps, magnifying spectacles, stereo headband magnifiers, rigid endoscope with a monitor, special luxators, diverse diamond burs or cutters, curettes, pean forceps, Luer forceps, Heidemann spatula, extraction forceps for cheek teeth, suitable dental unit with a slow‐rotating micromotor with a straight handpiece, cutting disc impregnated with diamond dust.
