Torsional rigidity by a core‐stiffened building
For a building with a core of a perpendicular component for building stress, it can be evaluated, by means of simple assessment of lability numbers
and
, if a calculation based on a theory II. order, is required. By means of calculation of non‐fulfillment of the verification of torsional stress, general criteria for stiffening of buildings should be achieved by means of a core.
If the bending stress of a sufficiently stiffened building has an area of over the core inverted cones with an opening angle of 60°, the floor plan being completely covered, further evidence according to theory II. order can be dispensed. The building being sufficiently stiffened against torsional stress.
The procedure is illustrated by means of examples. Construction principles for structural building reinforcement and constructive conditions complete the treatise.
