Zum Titelbild: Der Klimawandel ist eine der größten Herausforderungen, denen wir uns in den nächsten Jahrzehnten stellen müssen. Mit einem Anteil von knapp 40 % trägt die Bauwirtschaft einen maßgeblichen Anteil an den anthropogenen Treibhausgasemissionen. Die immer intensivere Nutzung unserer Lebensräume und der Verbrauch natürlicher Ressourcen sind weitere gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgaben für den zukünftigen Erhalt unseres Planeten. Die Dekarbonisierung der Bauindustrie ist hierbei ein wesentlicher Faktor. Doch auch mit klugen Konzepten können Architekten und Fachplaner wichtige Beiträge zu einem nachhaltigen Bausektor leisten. Die Reduzierung energieintensiver Baustoffe, die Vereinfachung von Gebäuden in Richtung Lowtech‐Architektur und die Wertschätzung von Bestandsbauten als Materialbanken sind dabei wesentliche Grundprinzipien einer neuen und zwingend erforderlichen Planungskultur.
