This SEM micrograph, obtained by Elton José de Souza and edited by Alex Otávio Sanches, shows graphite nanosheets@polyaniline nanocomposites obtained by in situ polymerization. Prominent applications of these multifunctional nanocomposites include gas sensors, pH sensors, and electromagnetic shielding. The study focused on the production of nanocomposites with different electrical, thermal, and morphological properties and their correlation with the different physicochemical interactions evidenced from the different dopants. This type of anchoring has been shown to directly influence the amount of graphite nanosheets that could be incorporated into the reaction medium. It also highlighted the possible existence of a hybrid intercalation/pseudo‐intercalation process that was responsible for promoting an increase of up to 50 ºC in the thermal stability of the nanocomposites.
