Barack Obamas Vision einer nuklearwaffenfreien Welt ist inzwischen zum Vehikel für zahlreiche Trittbrettfahrer geworden, die nur wenig mit dem Anliegen des amerikanischen Präsidenten gemein haben. Unter Berufung auf Obama propagieren sie eine Abrüstungsagenda, die die vielfältigen Anforderungen an die amerikanische Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik in einer komplexen Welt ignoriert. Da die globalen Entwicklungen der kommenden Jahre den Vereinigten Staaten nicht erlauben werden, eine kompromisslos am Ziel der nuklearen Nichtverbreitung orientierte Politik zu betreiben, ist Enttäuschung vorprogrammiert – vor allem bei denen, die sich Obamas Vision mehr oder weniger unkritisch zu eigen gemacht haben.
