Summary
Percutaneous CT-guided radiofrequency treatment of osteoid osteoma is a minimally invasive alternative to the surgical and medical management of osteoid osteoma. Experience with a large number of patients has shown that it can be performed safely and effectively in the great majority of patients with this condition. With success rates similar to those for operative treatment, minimal complications, and rapid recovery, it has largely eliminated surgical treatment and long-term medical management in our institution.
