Allergies are called the epidemic disease of the 21st century. Many animal and herbal foods cause allergy reactions. Pollen allergies are often associated with food allergies. The cause of intolerance reactions are artificial additives as well as natural substances. In clinical nutrition the elimination of allergens is the main aspect of therapy.
In Chinese dietetics we use the same instruments of diagnosis as in Chinese medicine. There are different disorders of zangfu organs in food allergy influenced by external and internal pathogenic factors. Therapy concepts are based on diagnosed disorders especially considering the pathogenic factors. Elimination of food allergens is also used as foods counteracting the pathogenic factors. With the knowledge of the food effectiveness a very individual dietetic is possible. Western clinical nutrition and experiences of Chinese dietetics are combinable very usefully.
