Entsprechend den zugrundeliegenden Ausfallmechanismen werden in der Literatur verschiedene einfache und komplexe Vorgehensweisen zur Behandlung von fehlenden Werten empfohlen. Trotz des erheblichen Mehraufwands ist ein verantwortungsvoller Umgang mit fehlenden Werten sowohl aus methodischer Sicht als auch in Bezug auf die Aussagekraft einer Studie angezeigt.
