Hintergrund
Ein 45-jähriger Patient wurde wegen einer beidseitigen idiopathischen Facialisparese stationär mit hochdosiertem Cortison therapiert. Der Patient wurde nach vier Tagen in unverändert schlechtem Zustand entlassen und kam im Anschluss an den Klinikaufenthalt zur Akupunkturtherapie.
Zielsetzung
Da das Telefonieren für den Patienten nicht möglich war, stand die Verbesserung der Artikulation im Vordergrund, angestrebt wurde aber auch die Wiederherstellung eines vollständigen Augenschlusses, um ein Austrocknen der Augen zu verhindern und den unangenehmen Uhrglasverband ablegen zu können.
Methode
Es erfolgten zunächst zwei Behandlungen täglich, dann musste wegen des Wochenendes eine zweitägige Pause erfolgen. In der darauffolgenden Woche wurde täglich von Montag bis Freitag therapiert. Die Behandlung umfasste Akupunkturtherapie und lokales Schröpfen.
Ergebnisse
Nach insgesamt sieben Behandlungen kam es zu einer Restitutio ad integrum, weshalb die Sitzungen beendet wurden.
Schlussfolgerung
Frühzeitiger Beginn der Therapie einer idiopathischen Facialisparese mittels Akupunktur und Schröpfen kann unter laufender Cortisontherapie zu einem sehr guten Erfolg führen.
