Nasenkorrekturen bei Spaltpatienten erfordern umfangreiche rhinochirurgische Kenntnisse. Es gibt kein universelles, allgemein akzeptiertes Verfahren, das für alle spaltbedingten Fehlformen der Nase anwendbar wäre. Jeder Patient hat individuelle Besonderheiten und die Variabilität der Expression spaltbedingter Nasendysplasien ist sehr groß. Gleichwohl ist eine restlose Beseitigung aller spaltbedingten Fehformen der Nase nicht immer möglich. Vorhandene Narben und skelettale Anomalien des Gesichtsschädels bedingen bisweilen Kompromisse. Dies darf jedoch kein Anlass sein, sich mit mäßigen Ergebnissen zufriedenzugeben. Das bestmögliche funktionelle und ästhetische Resultat ermöglicht dem Patienten eine gute Lebensqualität, die Ziel jeder chirurgischen Rehabilitation sein sollte.
