In this article, the author presents gynaecological diseases from the point of view of nutritional medicine and Chinese dietetics. In addition to looking at occurrence, prevalence, clinical appearance and causes, the article also discusses nutritional diagnostics in detail. The corresponding nutritional recommendations are based on current levels of knowledge. They cover tips for the selection and preparation of the food as well as suggestions for possible nutrient substitutions. All disease patterns are also discussed in accordance with Chinese differential diagnosis. Possible disorder patterns concern disharmonies in Yin and Yang, in the body substances Qi, blood, Jin-Ye, Jing and/or in the corresponding Zang-Fu organs. In line with the classification of foods in Chinese dietetics, the treatment principles in nutrition therapy consist of balancing imbalances, correcting deficiency or fullness syndromes, harmonising basic substances and eliminating pathological factors. For this purpose, the appropriate foods are described with their temperature behaviour and flavours. The combination of modern nutritional knowledge and traditional experiences offered by Chinese dietetics provides for an integrative, extended treatment concept for gynaecological diseases.
