In the modern world, Information Technology (IT) plays a vital role in the decision-making system. The design of IT depends on the analysis of the system where it is to be implemented. In the competitive market, if a system remains static, then it becomes almost impossible to reach the goal. The system design should be such that depending upon the time and requirement the variables and parameters used in the system could be made flexible to achieve the goal. This means that the decision-making should be proper and dynamic. A lot of complexity arises in managerial decision-making due to the size of the problem and nature of the variables used. Very often, the variables are not static and exhibit dynamic behavior. Hence, any methodology that is meant for decision support should provide flexibility in the nature of the variables. In the industry, to maximize the profit (output) is the main objective. To achieve it, there are so many integrated functions like finance, production, marketing that are involved. The output of one function might be the input of another function. In order to identify the policies, it is most important to have an in-depth learning about the system. To facilitate learning, the process of modeling and research on the systems is adopted which develops reasoning capabilities and managerial policy-making skills by carrying out a policy debate. In view of this, a system modeling for flexibility in the IT Policy of the organization M/s NIIT Limited is discussed in this paper.
