This work presents a selective rerouting methodology for part scheduling in the presence of shop floor disruption. Mean tardiness maximum tardiness and number of tardy jobs are the performance measures considered, to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. In the proposed methodology, the parts in the queue of the failed machine are rearranged on the basis of earliest due date priority heuristics and the completion time of each rearranged part is computed on the failed machine as well as an alternative machine. If the completion time of a rearranged job at the alternative machine is less than the completion time at the failed machine then alternative machine is selected for processing otherwise the part remains in the queue of the failed machine.
