Eine 24-jährige Patientin stellte sich mit plötzlich auftretenden parazentralen Gesichtsfeldausfällen am rechten Auge vor, die erstmals 2 Monate vor der Vorstellung in der Klinik bemerkt wurden. Die Spaltlampenuntersuchung der vorderen und hinteren Augenabschnitte ergab einen unauffälligen Befund. In infraroten Fundusbildern waren 3 scharf begrenzte, ovale, hyporeflektive Areale am rechten hinteren Pol und ein kleines ähnliches Areal am linken hinteren Pol nachweisbar. In der optischen Kohärenztomographie (Cirrus-OCT) war ein Abbruch der hochreflektiven Bänder der äußeren Netzhaut nachweisbar. Die Diagnose einer akuten makulären Neuroretinopathie wurde gestellt.
