We describe procedures of corrosion monitoring based on measuring electrochemical noises on the surfaces of structural steels under different operating conditions: under mechanical stresses, in the presence of galvanic couples, under protective coatings, under the conditions of spraying of salt solutions of various concentrations, and under variations of temperature. The results of these observations enable one to determine the types of corrosion and the mechanisms of its development in the fracture processes running on the metal surfaces, increase the sensitivity of detection of the processes to a level of nanometers, and decrease the duration of testing.
