Stochastic models for estimation of communications average productivity in stationary and working models during time T are considered. These models are used for designing oil and gas communications.
The conventrional methods of electromagnetical circuit analysis do not provide means of comprehensive taking of the magnetic network topology into account. This article suggests an approach employing two novel circuit elements — electromagnetic gyrator /EMG/ and magnetic loss /K/ — which enable the process of mathematical model building to be done faster. Besides, the use of these elements is presented...
The subject of this work is the problem for time-suboptimal point-to-point control in the presence of control and acceleration constraints. A direct method for control synthesis of the corresponding two-point boundary-value problems, combined with a parametric optimization procedure is proposed. Control laws are obtained on the base of the relay principle — the motion of the mechanical system is such...
The modelling process consists of a series of abstraction levels deriving a formulation suitable for the solution process from observations of the real system. A relational view is typical for the real system. By applying it to the target formulation a shift of the application of conceptual knowledge from the modeller to the computer becomes possible. The general methodology is shown at linear optimization...
The paper shows the convergence properties of the proposed algorithm in the case of linear system without constraints. The application of the algorithm to control more complicated system is also substantiated and then illustrated by the computational experiments. This algorithm therefore seems to represent a useful tool for large-scale system coordination in the presence of drifting disturbances.
A stochastic multiobjective dynamic programming model is described for the optimal utilization of mineral resources for satisfying the energy demand of the national economy. The model is based on a special block-structure, where each block is characterized by its input and output vectors and state variables. The whole system is considered as a superposition of the subsystems defined by the individual...
This paper deals with economical optimization in electric utilities. After a short review which summarizes the optimization activities of the Styrian electric utility STEWEAG, a report is given about an attempt of IBM Austria and STEWEAG to practically implement a short term operation planning system which is universally applicable to electric power systems and district heating systems. Some of the...
A derivation-free random search procedure following the principles of biological evolution was chosen to solve the constrained reactive optimal power flow in order to overcome convergence difficulties originating from the imposed constraints of different physical dimension (scaling problems!) and from the ‘fissured’ solution space caused by them. Starting from an arbitrary system state the solution...
Designing a railway station is a complex decision problem that calls for extensive investigation of alternative solutions. With the purpose of assisting the design studies of Campanhã Railway Station, a major node in the Portuguese Railway Network, a simulation model was developed enabling the planners to evaluate different lay-out solutions under various traffic load conditions. This model uses SIMUVI,...
This paper is aimed at the selection of optimal configurations for power systems on oil platforms for generating electricity and satisfying power demands of process equipment. The variable power demands arising from the variable production profile are approximated through a finite sequence of time periods. A systematic procedure for the design of these flexible power systems is presented that is based...
This paper presents the procedure for optimum parameters adjustment of the separetly excited dc motor drive using sensitivity analysis, The dc motor drive, containing dc motor, thyristor, regulators of armature current and speed is described by the set of the first order linearised differential equation in the state space form. The modes of the regulators are assumed to be known. On the base of the...
In this paper we define two classes of algorithms for the solution of constrained problems. The first class is based on a continuously differentiable exact penalty function, with the additional inclusion of a barrier term. The second class is based on a similar modification performed on a continuously differentiable exact augmented Lagrangian function. In connection with these functions, an automatic...
