Carbon sources have large impacts on the capacity of LiFePO4/C mixture. In this work, mixed carbon sources with different ratios were employed to prepare promising carbons to improve the capacity of LiFePO4-based cathode. The highest electrical performance was achieved with sample prepared from carbon source mixed of 30 % PF and 70 % sucrose. The discharge capacity of this novel cathode, whose actual content was 1.81 wt.%, was 162 mAhg−1 at a 0.1C rate or 150 mAhg−1 at 1C rate. Moreover, SEM, TEM, and Raman spectroscopy investigations were performed to explore the enhanced mechanism of this modified LiFePO4-based cathode. The results suggest that the enhanced electrochemical performance can be ascribed to the high ratio of sp2/sp3, which virtually ameliorated the electrical conductivity and electron transfer.
