This chapter analyses both London’s strengths and the challenges it faces in the educational environment, seeking to contribute to a clearer understanding of the most effective ways to bring about sustainable change for gifted and talented students.
It also examines the role of London Gifted and Talented and London Challenge in bringing about such change within this environment, by investigating some of the models for teaching and learning that we have developed and trialled across the capital by working with students, schools and Local Authorities facing the most challenging circumstances.
The final focus is on how effective our organisations have been in collaboratively building educator capacity by embedding what works in schools, and the impact our work has had on raising standards and realising the potential of our capital’s gifted and talented students.
