It’s an essential problem to look for a simple and effective method for camera calibration in the application of computer vision. A new simple and fast calibration method is proposed in this paper. It needs a calibration block and a plane template.Through the calibration block, the point of intersection which is the projection for the optic axis of CCD on the image plane or called image-plane’s center coordinate is obtained directly. The focal distance is calculated by geometry method, too. Then applying the coplanar-feature point, other parameters of camera system could be calculated. The experimental results show that this method can do calibration for camera’s extrinsic and intrinsic parameters fast and conveniently with a relatively high precision.
