Armut hat sich in unserer Studie als komplexe und vieldimensionale Lebenslage gezeigt, die unterschiedliche Facetten sowohl bei den Eltern wie bei den Kindern hat. Im Folgenden sollen zunächst mit Blick auf die Mütter und Väter die wichtigsten Aspekte ihrer Lebenslage betrachtet werden; dabei sollen die Strukturen ihrer Benachteiligungen und Belastungen, aber auch die Wahrnehmung und Interpretation durch die Erwachsenen sowie ihre Handlungsmöglichkeiten und Bewältigungsstrategien herausgearbeitet werden. Es zeigt sich eine strukturelle Labilität der Lebenslagen, die in den meisten Fällen auch so wahrgenommen wird. Wir unterscheiden dabei als wichtigste Bereiche die berufliche Perspektive und die damit verbundene Lebensplanung, den Sozialhilfebezug, die Familiensituation und die damit verbundenen Fragen der biografischen Lebensplanung, des Weiteren die Netzwerke, die Erziehungsstile, die Bewältigungsstrukturen im Kontext der Lebenslagen. Diese Aspekte sollen danach mit den Lebenslagen und Bewältigungsformen der Kinder verglichen werden. Wir gehen dabei von einem strukturellen Zusammenhang elterlicher und kindlicher Wahrnehmung sowie Bewältigung aus, der allerdings nicht einlinig zu sehen ist. Was kindliche Armut sei, ist unsere Forschungsfragestellung, der wir zunächst mit einem offenen Verständnis entgegentreten. Wenn wir Armut hypothetisch als zugespitzte Form kindlicher Benachteiligung sehen, sind empirisch ihre Formen und Strukturen zu klären. Der folgende Teil 5.1 thematisiert die wichtigsten Belastungen, Ressourcen und Bewältigungsformen der Eltern. Auf dieser Basis können im nächsten Abschnitt 5.2 die Zusammenhänge mit den Belastungen, Ressourcen und Bewältigungsformen der Kinder deutlich werden.
