Die wirtschaftliche Gestaltung betrieblicher Informationssysteme erfordert Methoden, die eine Analyse und Bewertung der Gestaltungspotenziale ermöglichen. Ziel ist es, den ökonomischen Wert der Informationstechnologie (IT) im Hinblick auf den individuellen unternehmerischen Kontext zu beurteilen. In dieser Arbeit wird das Konzept der Potenzialmodellierung eingeführt, das eine wertorientierte Betrachtung von Gestaltungsalternativen in die Informationsmodellierung integriert. Zur Konkretisierung wird die Wertbeurteilung Serviceorientierter Architekturen (SOA) behandelt. In einem Demonstrationsbeispiel wird der praktische Nutzen des Konzepts aufgezeigt. Die Ergebnisse sollen auch Anregungen für weitere Forschungsarbeiten auf dem Gebiet der wertorientierten Wirtschaftsinformatik liefern.
