Le fratture di clavicola sono state per anni trattate incruentemente con buoni risultati clinico-funzionali; l’avvento delle nuove placche anatomiche self-locking ha portato alcuni Autori a rivedere l’algoritmo terapeutico, preferendo il trattamento chirugico in pazienti selezionati.
Abbiamo arruolato, in un periodo di tempo di 2 anni, 78 fratture di clavicola così divise: un gruppo di 38 pazienti è stato sottoposto a sintesi con placca conformata anatomica mentre 40 sono stati trattati conservativamente mediante bendaggio “a otto”. Tutti i pazienti sono stati valutati clinicamente e radiograficamente a 1–3–6–12 mesi dal trauma.
Dai risultati ottenuti è emerso che il trattamento chirurgico e quello conservativo presentano risultati clinici e funzionali sovrapponibili a un anno dal trauma. La ripresa funzionale e la ripresa dell’attività sportiva sono state più precoci nel gruppo dei pazienti chirurgici. La grande soddisfazione dei pazienti per il rapido e poco doloroso recupero funzionale ci porta a preferire la sintesi rigida al tratamento conservativo.
