The concept of a synchrotron Induction synchrotron employing induction acceleration devices is described [1]. The concept becomes more clear when one contrasts the Induction Synchrotron with an RF synchrotronRF synchrotron , which has been employed in all high-energy circular accelerators since being independently invented by McMillan [2] McMillan and Veksler [3] Veksler . In the Induction Synchrotron, the accelerating devices of a conventional synchrotron, such as an RF cavity, are replaced with induction devices.
