Due to the increasing demand for retaining a youthful looking countenance particularly of the skin by the continuously aging population, particularly of the skin, the field of minimally invasive aesthetic treatment has expanded in recent years. The loss of elasticity, formation of folds and pigment displacement of the skin in particular need to be improved, if possible with no side effects and within the shortest possible time period. The methods of mesotherapy and percutaneous collagen induction are presented. Mesotherapy and percutaneous collagen induction utilize endogenous mechanisms for repair of damaged structures in the sense of regenerative treatment and can lead to effective results without high instrumental technology but with minimally invasive procedures and minimal time delays. Both methods are an established component of aesthetic medicine.
