Aufgrund der Fortschritte in der Adhäsiv- und Komposittechnologie ist es heute problemlos möglich, ästhetisch ansprechende Rekonstruktionen im Frontzahnbereich mit direkt applizierten Kompositen durchzuführen. Hierfür stehen langzeitstabile Adhäsiv- und Kompositsysteme zur Verfügung. Direkte Restaurationen aus Kompositen im Sinne von Zahnformkorrekturen, direkten Veneers und direkten Kronen erobern sich einen Platz neben standardmäßig angewendeten Keramikveneers, vollkeramischen Kronen oder VMK-Kronen. Die Indikationen für die Anwendung der direkten Techniken erstrecken sich dabei von minimal- oder noninvasiven Eingriffen zum Verschluss von kleinen Lücken oder sog. schwarzen Dreiecken über umfangreichere Form-, Farb- und Stellungskorrekturen bis hin zur vollständigen Sanierung der Oberkiefer- und Unterkieferfrontzähne. Im folgenden Artikel wird die derzeitige Evidenz zur Versorgungsart der direkten Zahnformkorrekturen beleuchtet und weiterführend die praktische Umsetzung beschrieben.
