Abstract. A boy of 3 years 8 months with short stature due to chronic renal insufficiency was treated with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) for 20 months. Catch-up growth was achieved and the improvement of the height standard deviation score was sustained throughout an additional 4 years of follow-up without further rhGH therapy.
