Lanthanum promoted titania-supported cobalt catalysts were prepared using incipient wetness impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, TPR and TPD. The catalytic activity for Fischer–Tropsch synthesis was evaluated in a fixed-bed reactor. The activity increased with increasing La content except at high loadings. Furthermore, La promoter increased methane and CO2 selectivity, suppressed the formation of C5+ products.
