Eine 32-jährige alleinlebende Frau war am Montag nicht zur Arbeit erschienen. Die besorgte Arbeitskollegin informierte die Eltern, die über einen Wohnungsschlüssel verfügten. Bei der Nachschau – gemeinsam mit der Polizei – wurde der Leichnam der Tochter in Rückenlage auf dem Flurboden liegend gefunden, im Wohnzimmer war ein Stuhl umgekippt, auf dem Tisch gab es Zeichen einer vorangegangenen Bewirtung. Allerdings waren Essensreste auf einem Teller bereits leicht angeschimmelt. Die Verschlussverhältnisse (Fenster, Türen) waren intakt. Weitere Ermittlungen ergaben, dass die 32-Jährige am Samstag zum Frühstück einen Freund empfangen hatte. Dieser erzählte, die Frau habe über Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit und Erbrechen geklagt, dies jedoch auf eine Magen-Darm-Grippe geschoben. Bevor er die Wohnung verließ, habe die Frau noch gesagt, sie werde bei ausbleibender Besserung zum Arzt gehen. Die polizeiliche und die rechtsmedizinische Untersuchung des Leichnams ergaben keinerlei Verletzungen. Bei der Obduktion fand sich eine ausgedehnte Subarachnoidalblutung, ausgehend von einem rupturierten Hirnbasisarterienaneurysma.
