Hintergrund

In einem Fall einer chronischen Erkrankung an einem M. Sudeck (komplexes regionales Schmerzsyndrom, CRPS I) der Hand erhob sich die Frage, ob es möglich ist, nicht nur die Restfunktion der Hand zu erhalten, sondern auch die normale Handfunktion mit technisch unterstützten sensomotorischen Übungsbehandlungen weitgehend wiederherzustellen.

Material und Methoden

Ein 54-jähriger Patient erhielt fast 5 Jahre lang wegen einer chronischen Form des komplexen regionalen Schmerzsyndroms seiner linken Hand zahlreiche analgetische und antiinflammatorische Medikamente und sehr viele physiotherapeutische Behandlungen. Die Greifkraft blieb jedoch extrem reduziert und die Hand funktionslos.

Ergebnisse

Im Verlauf von 90 sensomotorischen Übungsbehandlungen an einem Hand- und Fingerdynamometer wurde die Greifkraft normalisiert. Der Patient hatte nur noch geringe Schmerzen und konnte wieder leichte bis mittelschwere Arbeiten ausführen.

Schlussfolgerung

Auch dieser Fall zeigt, dass durch konsequente, intensive und gezielte motorische Übungen eine weitgehend normale Leistungsfähigkeit der Hand bei einem CRPS I wiederhergestellt werden kann.

Background

The question developed in a case of chronic Sudeck’s disease (complex regional pain syndrome, CRPS I) of the hand whether it was possible not only to maintain the residual function of the hand, but even to restore its normal function to a great extent with technically assisted sensomotoric exercises.

Material and methods

A 54-year-old patient suffering from CRPS of his left hand received various analgesic and antiinflammatory medications for almost 5 years. He received many physiotherapy sessions, however, to no avail. The gripping strength of the hand was extremely reduced and the hand was useless.

Results

In the course of 90 sensomotoric exercises with the help of a hand and finger dynamometer, the gripping strength was normalized, the patient had only little pain, and he could perform light and medium work.

Conclusion

This case shows that it is possible to restore the normal function and performance of the hand in the case of CRPS I with the help of consistent, intensive, and systematic motor exercises.
