Neuroendokrine Neoplasien umfassen eine seltene und in der Mehrzahl prognostisch günstige Gruppe epithelialer Malignome, die mit zunehmender Inzidenz diagnostiziert werden. Ihre charakteristische Besonderheit ist die Fähigkeit zur Sekretion von Peptidhormonen und/oder Neurotransmittern. Die daraus resultierenden charakteristischen Syndrome und die allgemeine onkologischen Versorgung stellen eine komplexe Herausforderung im klinischen Alltag dar, welche dank zunehmender diagnostischer Sicherheit moderner Verfahren und der Verfügbarkeit neuer Therapieoptionen sowie der überwiegend langen Überlebenszeiten auch zukünftig an Bedeutung gewinnen wird.
