The aim of this article is to show the phenomenon of a sudden drop,in a short period of time, in religiousness of the Czech nation, which constitutes – according to the Author – an isolated case in Central and Eastern Europe. By analyzing this phenomenon, the Author pays particular attention to the secularized Hussite tradition and the tradition of the Czech anti-Catholicism, which have been and still are of key importance for the process of shaping the Czech national identity.
