During 1989-1993 the domestic and foreign political thought of the formations with peasant origins was developed between both after – ZSL and after – Solidarność formations. Some main problems in the light of the Polish accession to the EEC and EU were discussed. First, the profits from the European integration for Polish agriculture. Second, the dangers linked to this process. These views were represented by all of the Polish peasant parties, even by Samobrona then called an agrarian populist party on the other hand it should be pointed out the fact of lacking the precise and long-term vision in their domestic and foreign policies, besides general statements of the parties leaders and trade unions, and some vague requirements in their political programs. It may be because of the fight among them to establish their position in the country. In the period of 1989-1993 there was a struggle to be a leader of the peasant movement between two quite clear polarized formations: after – ZSL and after – Solidarność.
