We put forward a new type impregnated dispenser cathode, which impregnates the active salt of BaO/SrO/Sc2O3. At 1100UB, the pulse current density of the cathode is up to 86.2A/cm2, 2.7 times of the value of a traditional M-type cathode. It is proposed that, the emission of pores and pore edges caused by Sc2O3 and SrO is the main reason that the new cathode has excellent emission performance.
A CW 48 GHz 500 Watt saturated 250 MHz Extended Interaction Klystron (EIK) has been developed and delivered for use in the ESA Alphasat program. Designed for integration into a new CPI Satcom Division High Power Amplifier (HPA), this EIK may be operated in a linear mode up to 300 Watts rated output power, with performance optimized at 75 Watts. The EIK is temperature stabilized over a 60°C temperature...
Zinc oxide was directly grown on the graphene layer by the hydrothermal synthesis method, and the field emission property of this hybrid structure was tested by a diode structure device. Compared with the Zinc oxide directly grown on the silicon substrates, the hybrid emitter shows better performance in the field emission properties, including low turn-on field, threshold field and high emission current...
The design of a W-band serpentine TWT with >200 W of power over a 4 GHz bandwidth (>100 W over 7 GHz) is presented. The amplifier is driven by a 122mA, 20 kV electron beam generated by a slightly modified version of the demonstrated 670 GHz beamstick at a reduced magnetic field. The design was performed by both the established MAGIC-3D and the recently validated NRL code Neptune, with good agreement...
This paper describes RF performance on a Ka/Q-band mini-TWT. An output power of greater than 80 W has been demonstrated in the Ka and Q communication bands.
