We propose a method to measure the residual gas in microwave vacuum electronic devices (VED) in long-term storage based on Rayleigh scattering, and establish the relation between the gas state and the intensity of scattered light. This method can be used to monitor the status of VED in long-term storage.
We put forward a new type impregnated dispenser cathode, which impregnates the active salt of BaO/SrO/Sc2O3. At 1100UB, the pulse current density of the cathode is up to 86.2A/cm2, 2.7 times of the value of a traditional M-type cathode. It is proposed that, the emission of pores and pore edges caused by Sc2O3 and SrO is the main reason that the new cathode has excellent emission performance.
Possible quantum analogues of classical powerful microwave devices (multiwave Cherenkov generator, high-power klystrons, relativistic TWT and BWO) in the interaction of multi streams of charged particles of different sign are discussed. From the standpoint link with the experiment, we have the electron-positron system with collective interaction of many macroscopic groups of particles.
A Ka-band high power sheet beam backward wave oscillator (BWO) has been presented in this paper. In which the double-grating rectangular waveguide is used as the slow wave structure. A high power sheet beam with cross section 30mm×1mm is produced by a thin cathode. The output power exceeds 35 MW at 31.1 GHz. The beam-wave interaction efficiency is about 14.7%.
The effects of introducing one or more reflectors inside an axial Vircator are analyzed using CST-Particle Studio® PIC simulation. The power conversion efficiency is shown to be enhanced from 1% to 13% at 3 GHz. The optimum output power is obtained with three reflectors.
Effective electromagnetic coupling with electronic equipment at radiation is used by a high power microwave (HPM) weapons source which means a relativistic backward wave oscillator in here. In the process of researching, developing and using HPM source, we have been studying a real “effective coupling” source which is able to attack the overall target, suitable in all situation ns. The experimental...
Plasma assisted microwave devices are unique source for microwave radiation. This paper presents the status for development of X-band Plasma Assisted Slow Wave Oscillator (PASOTRON) of peak power 0.5MW.
