We propose an integrated and personalized video retrieval and summarization system. We estimate and impose appropriate preference values on affinity propagation graph of the video frames. Then, our system produces the summary which is useful for the user in her/his relevance feedback and for the retrieval module for comparing video pairs. The experiments confirm the effectiveness of our approach for...
In this paper, we present a new three-dimensional (3D) tangent estimator by extending the two-dimensional (2D) λ-maximal segment tangent (λ-MST) estimator, which has very good theoretical and practical behaviors. We show that our proposed estimator keeps the same time complexity, accuracy and experimental asymptotic behaviors as the original 2D one.
Shape analysis relies on using a finite number of points on the contour of an object to compare the shapes of objects. These points are called landmarks. Hence, when landmarks are not available for analysis, we must place some appropriately on the contour. In this paper, we describe a new method for placing landmarks well on the contours of objects in the same class. The landmarks located by our method...
With the popularity of vision-based camera surveillance, the research on people localization appeals to much attention. In this paper, we propose an efficient and effective system capable of locating a crowd of dense people in real time, using multiple cameras. For each camera view, sample lines, originated from a vanishing point, of foreground objects are projected on the ground plane. Ground regions...
Discriminative approaches to human pose estimation have became popular in recent years. These approaches face a big challenge: Similar inputs might correspond to very dissimilar poses. This property misleads the mapping functions which rely on the Euclidean distances in the input space. In this paper, we use the distances between the labels of the training data to learn a metric and map the input...
