Competences for staff in projects were characterized so far mainly by competence base lines established by project management associations. For the future it will be more and more important to define competencies with respect to the European Qualification Framework and to extend the existing approaches.
The PMI standards on project management are extended and processes for project finance management are defined. Finance management for projects is compared with finance management for programs with focus on the first process of the PMI standard on Program Management “Establish Program Financial Framework”.
New standards for project audit are reviewed, the impact to existing standards in project and program management is analyzed, appropriate methods and tools to develop project audit and project management are discussed.
