A comprehensive theory of couplings between a cavity and different charge configurations in a quantum dot is developed. It is shown that the quantum anti-Zeno effect is essential for the results obtained by QED experiments. The quantum dynamics of the system employing the quantum master equation is analysed. A Stansky-Krastanov InAs QD grown on a GaAs substrate was assumed, and the only first confined...
We report on cavity quantum electrodynamics effects in high-Q electrically contacted quantum dot-micropillar cavities. The structures show weak coupling and strong coupling via electrooptical tuning as well as single photon emission and low threshold lasing.
The appearance of the two-photon strong-coupling states is analyzed in atomic vs. semi-conductor quantum-dot microcavities. An identical excitation mechanism explains phenomena observed in photon-correlation measurements.
We experimentally observe truly random to non-thermal to thermal distribution of population of InAs quantum dots with temperature using unamplified spontaneous emission and measure the impact on laser operation.
Colloidal PbSe quantum dots (QDs) are site-selectively bound to silicon-based L3 photonic crystal cavities through a robust process consisting of AFM-lithography and surface chemistry techniques. High-contrast cavity-mode emission is observed, indicating good cavity-QDs coupling.
We present a formal theory of single quantum-dot coupling to a planar photonic crystal that supports quasi-degenerate cavity modes, and use this theory to describe, and optimize, entangled-photon-pair generation via the biexciton-exciton cascade.
We studied the coupling between the lattice vibrations and the electronic states of a single electrically pumped InAs/GaAs quantum dot. The experimental observed spectra agree excellent with theoretical modeling considering real QD structural parameters.
We present experimental analysis of weak coupling for monolayer lead sulfide quantum dots coupled to silicon photonic crystal cavities between 4 K and room temperature, as well as power-saturation measurements of dots at 4 K.
We introduce a medium-dependent master equation formalism to study the off-resonant coupling behavior between a single quantum dot and a photonic-crystal cavity. Several surprising effects are found that help explain recent experiments.
