This paper introduces a generic service oriented architectural model which can be employed for various classes of pervasive computing applications. The utility of the model is demonstrated with respect to its successful application in an Internet-based control system for multiple robots. A service abstraction technique is also introduced for describing groups of services which provide similar functionality.
The traditional annotation technologies focus on the content of the resources which is normally done by the system managers. There are some Web applications which allow users to annotate the resources besides the content; we call this phenomenon as pervasive annotation. This paper defines the pervasive annotation as a correlative procedure of tag assignation, rating, description and usage status marking...
This paper describes a novel architectural design model for implementing enterprise systems with the aid of service oriented architecture (SOA). It addresses the organizational challenges in enabling cross communication and collaboration without changing the current ICT infrastructure. Organizations in today's market require a dynamic system that synchronizes not only their supply chain, but also...
Due to its poor support of the newest flash standard, it may be harder to make wide application of embedded browser in pervasive computing area, especially the ones running on the uCLinux-based platform, which has no MMU support. This paper focuses on this issue. It chooses the open-source project Konqueror/Embedded Web browser as the research basis, and proposes a method of developing plug-ins on...
Next generation networks (NGN) are the basis of converged IT and telecom services and OSS is a crucial, mission critical area in the Telecommunications domain, in particular in a period of economic recession and heavy cost savings. There is a trend to adopt Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to rationalize OSS infrastructure in NGN. In this Paper, we present an innovative OSS solution based on SOA...
Pervasive computing has created both new business opportunities and new challenges for the modern enterprises. An innovated business application integration pattern for collaborated enterprises with the traits of the variability and equality was presented, in which the key challenge is that there is not the need of a headquarters to govern the whole business across the enterprises with the common...
Service oriented architecture became more and more popular with system designers and integration staff. Enterprise service bus is the basic infrastructure in implementing service oriented architecture. Java business integration specification provides a standard mechanism for enterprise service bus. This paper proposed a Java business integration based solution for service bus platform. It was designed...
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a computer system's architectural style for creating and using business processes, packaged as services, throughout their lifecycle. These services communicate with each other by passing data from one service to another, or by coordinating an activity between two or more services. SOA Integration leverages the benefits of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to...
With the emergence of new business and the change of customers' needs, the traditional OSS gradually can't response to all of these. It cost much to develop a new business, and can't quickly adjust the existing business to meet the change of the market's needs. So how to change this situation? Now, SOA became more and more popular with system designers and integration staff, and BPM breaks the limits...
