A novel multi-line filter using two-dimensional guided mode resonant (2D-GMR) filter is proposed. The locations of resonances are specifically controlled by modifying only the periodicity of the grating and other physical dimensions of the structure.
A new Brewster cut acousto-optic programmable gain control filter combined with an AOPDF pulse shaper optimizes the spectral losses of a 10 Hz CPA Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier to obtain 18 fs duration, 1.2%-rms stability, 107 contrast ratio.
The Titan laser, designed to produce up to 600 J with pulses of 0.4-200 ps, has begun initial target shots. Coupled with a kJ long-pulse beam, Titan will support high-energy-density physics research at LLNL.
We demonstrate tunable cascaded parametric oscillation in which the primary parametric oscillator signal internally pumps the secondary parametric oscillator. Above the secondary threshold we observe clamping of the primary signal, in accordance with theory.
