We report a compact, narrow-line intracavity OPO with a grazing-incidence grating. This kHz pulsed OPO fits into a 25 times 25 cm area, generating 30 muJ/pulse at 1560 nm with a linewidth of 0.8 cm-1.
Two-beam pumped noncollinear PPKTP OPO generating two signal waves with tunable spectral separation is demonstrated. The coherent pumping leads to a parametric gain grating which resonantly enhances cascaded sideband generation by the second-order nonlinear interaction.
Non-volatile electroholographic diffraction gratings were fabricated by periodically modulating the composition of KLTN crystals. The gratings are manifested as periodic variations of the static dielectric constant which are electrically induced into birefringence gratings.
Utilizing the photorefractive effect, space-charge fields are recorded in near-stoichiometric, iron-doped lithium niobate crystals. Together with an external electric field these can lead to tailored inversion of ferroelectric domains.
We demonstrate tunable cascaded parametric oscillation in which the primary parametric oscillator signal internally pumps the secondary parametric oscillator. Above the secondary threshold we observe clamping of the primary signal, in accordance with theory.
Inhomogeneous illumination causes charge separation in a lithium niobate crystal which results in field gradients in proximity to the crystal surface. We recorded diverse patterns and utilized the field gradients to trap micro- and nanoparticles.
Electroholographic switches in which the applied field is perpendicular to the grating vector so that the Bragg condition is electrically tuned are presented. Tunability of 7 nm can be accomplished in a single grating.
