We report the experimental observation of EIT in Cs2 in Lambda configuration. The width of EIT is smaller than widths of molecular transitions and has different dependence on temperature. Application to quantum storage is discussed.
Propagating orthogonally polarized probe and coupling lasers through a Cesium beam we explored two closed transitions. Electromagnetically induced absorption and absorption within transparency were measured on one line, electromagnetically induced transparency on the other one.
The optical properties of a cesium atomic beam driven on a resonant hyperfine transition was studied as a function of the probe laser frequency. Absorption, EIT, and light induced birefringence were found and explained.
