In this work, we propose a quick response circuit to improve the load transient response of fully low dropout voltage linear regulator (LDO) which is operable with a very low power consumption. Simulating by HSPICE with 0.35 mum CMOS technology shows that we can achieve the transient responses with less transient overshoot or undershoot when driving large current loads. Comparing to the generic LDO,...
Analog-to-digital converter designs are considerably becoming critical parts of wireless receiver improvement studies. Delta-sigma ADCs, which offer high-resolution, low cost and low power benefits are tested for aptness for the ZigBee standard - an emerging standard developed to address the needs of wireless sensing and control based on IEEE 802.15.4. Eight fully integrated delta-sigma analog-to-digital...
This paper presents a quadrature voltage-controlled oscillator (QVCO) based on the coupling of two LC-tank VCOs. The QVCO could be tuned between 2.41 and 2.64 GHz, and showed a phase noise of -139 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset frequency from the carrier across the whole tuning range, for a current consumption of 20 mA with 2.5-V power supply. A figure-of-merit of -190 dBc/Hz is observed.
The paper presents the design and implementation of six operational amplifiers with rail-to-rail input and output capability. The study characterizes several rail-to-rail input and output stages and the dependence of the op-amp's operation on different design parameters to formulate a standard design methodology that can serve as a guide for future researches and projects in the area of rail-to-rail...
Two topologies of SI comparator for low power current mode circuit implementation are presented. Employing different input stages, these two comparators are suitable to different application cases. Controlled by two complementary clock signals, the proposed comparator operates in a master and slave manner. Sharing a 0-static-power-dissipated dynamic latched comparator as the output comparators, both...
A low -voltage wide-band active-RC filter for wireless communication transceivers is presented. It is the 5th-order Chebyshev-II low pass filter with the bandwidth of 20 MHz. To guarantee high linear characteristic at a low supply voltage, the input common-mode level shifting circuit is added at the inputstage of the operational amplifier so that the input common-mode levelof the amplifier can be...
Polyphase filters are an efficient solution for high image rejection and great accuracy quadrature generation in radio frequency (RF) receivers. Analytical modeling of passive polyphase filter suitable for RF front-end applications operating in 2.4 GHz frequency band is dealt with. This analytical analysis has been used to calibrate the optimal values of passive components in order to obtain the maximum...
In the paper, an integrated synchronization system for IEEE802.11 multimode wireless LAN (WLAN) has been developed, simulated, and synthesized. A symbol timing recovery for 802.11a/g OFDM systems and a maximum likelihood (ML) matched filter for 802.11 and 802.11b systems are implemented and integrated into a single processor. All of the operation modes are mapped onto a shared, regular, data path...
