The study of magnetization on beta-FeSi2 nanoparticles with particle size of 15 nm, 22 nm and 75 nm confirmed that semiconducting beta-FeSi2 became superparamagnetic as it was reduced into nanoparticles. The superparamagnetic characteristics were identified by the irreversible magnetization and blocking temperatures of FC and ZFC measurements. The correlations among blocking temperature, anisotropic...
The domain wall dynamics during magnetization reversal process of glass-coated amorphous Fe77.5Si7.5B15 bistable microwire was considered. Its domain structure deriving from the magnetoelastic and shape anisotropies consists of an axial single domain and two closure domain structures at the ends, plus an outer radial-helical shell in its surface. This articles report the measured domain wall velocities,...
Amorphous Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si15.5B7 ribbons that are 2 mm wide and 20 mum thick were prepared by the continuous stress annealing-Joule heating (CSA-JH) method in air under tensile stresses of 50 to 175 MPa. Processing parameters such as the supplied current density and the moving velocity were varied. The ribbons were annealed at various conditions, and the relationship between the developed anisotropy...
The aim of this paper is to investigate FeCuSiBNb nanocrystalline microwires as an alternative to amorphous Co-based high-permeability microwires. The anisotropy is determined through static characterization from 20degC to 250degC using a VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer). The properties are comparable in term of softness, but are superior in terms of saturation magnetostriction and thermal stability...
In this study, we investigated that both magnetic switching and tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) ratio of MTJs with the NiFeSiB free layer. The junctions were fabricated by a photolithographic patterning procedure and ion beam etching. A magnetic field of 100 Oe was applied during deposition to induce the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy in ferromagnetic layer. The NiFeSiB layers were used to substitute...
In this paper, the mechanisms of the magnetostructural transition in Gd5(SixGe1-x)4 giant magnetocaloric alloys were studied. The transition mechanisms were observed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and acoustic emission (AE), showing that they are avalanche-mediated, essentially athermal, and the transitions evolve with cycling towards a reproducible pattern.
In the present paper, epitaxial Co2MnSi (CMS) films on MgO-buffered MgO (001) substrates are fabricated and the structural and magnetic properties of the fabricated CMS films are studied.
The present work aims at studying spin polarizations of Co2MnSi (CMS) and Co2MnGe (CMG ) polycrystaline thin films with L2, and A2 order by the point contact Andreev reflection (PCAR) technique. Results reveal that within the experimental errors of the PCAR technique, the spin polarization of the L21 ordered and A2 ordered thin films in both the alloys are almost the same. Hence, these alloys are...
In this study, four kinds of the Mn-Ir/Fe-Si/Ru exchange-coupled films with different ferromagnetic Fe-Si layer were fabricated, and a relation between microwave complex permeability and Fe-Si layer thickness was investigated. On the other hand, when decreasing the Fe-Si ferromagnetic film thickness tF, both critical frequencies f(Qges5) and f(Qges10) increased as well as the FMR frequency fx. The...
A model is presented to calculate the dynamic hysteresis behaviour of the magnetostriction in electrical steel under 1-D sinusoidal magnetisation. The input of the model is one period of the 1-D induction wave. On this induction wave, a fast Fourier transform (FFT) is performed, of which the frequency components are fed to the input of a neural network (NN).This neural network calculates the frequency...
In present study, spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique, an ideal technique for quick jointing different materials, has been introduced to prepare layer structural binary composite Gdx(Gd5Si2Ge2)1-x magnetic refrigerants. In spite of their excellent magneto-thermal properties, the MCE of these materials are usually pronounced only in the vicinity of the magnetic phase transition temperature and decrease...
A cantilevered actuator is fabricated in this study by sputter deposition using amorphous Fe72Si14B14 as the magnetostrictive material. The displacement of the cantilever is observed with applying the magnetic field of 10 kA/m to the width direction of the cantilever. Results show that the displacement of the cantilever increased with decreasing substrate thickness, and has a peak value at the thickness...
In this work, the effects of post-annealing of CoCrPt-SiO2/Ru perpendicular magnetic recording media on magnetic properties and microstructure have been studied. CoCrPt-SiO2/Ru/Ta thin films were deposited on Si substrate by a dc magnetron sputtering method at room temperature and followed by post-annealing for 30 minutes in the range of 100 ~ 240degC. Magnetic properties such as magnetization, coercivity...
In this study, we investigated the TMR effects in CoFeB/MgO/Heusler alloys (Co2FeSi and Co2MnSi) magnetic tunnel junctions. Both Co2FeSi and Co2MnSi heusler alloys have half-metallic band structure and high Curie temperature of 1200K and 985K, respectively. Moreover, the lattice mismatch between the Heusler alloys and MgO barrier is relatively small, which indicates that the highly textured Heusler...
The purpose of this paper is a numerical and experimental investigation of the shielding efficiency of low-cost metallic sheets in a frequency range 1-100 kHz. The analysis is performed on planar sheets constituted of aluminum, low-carbon steel, nonoriented (NO) and grain-oriented (GO) Fe-Si alloys. The experimental and modelling analyses have allowed the quantitative evaluation of the shielding factor...
La(Fe0.88Si0.12)13 and their hydrides show a large magnetocaloric effects which make them the primary candidate for the working materials for a near room temperature magnetic refrigeration. In this paper, structure and magnetocaloric effects of rapidly solidified La(Fe0.88Si0.12)13 alloys after short heat treatments are Rapidly solidified La(Fe0.88Si0.12)13 alloys were prepared using both a melt spinning...
The texture of high Si and Al electrical steel produced by hot dipping and diffusion annealing can be significantly modified by the thermomechanical processing. The diffusion of Si and Al from the coating affects the final texture depending on the Si content of the substrate. In low Si substrates a phase transformation gamma-alpha is possible and two different textures are observed. Crystallographic...
Soft magnetic alloys have useful DC properties such as high saturation magnetization, low coercivity, and good mechanical stability. However, for applications at frequencies in the MHz range, eddy currents and increased loss impose serious limitations. By forming polymer composites with separated particles of these magnetic alloys, it is expected that losses can be reduced at these frequencies. In...
