Ferrite/polymer composites were prepared by mixing ferrite powders with epoxy resin. The powders are W-type barium ferrites BaCoxZn2-xFe16O27 (x=1.0, 1.3 and 1.5) doped with V2O5 of 0-1.5 wt%. X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS), scanning electron microscope (SEM), electric resistivity, static and high-frequency...
Inductive power transfer (IPT) systems are widely used in transportation resort mostly in clean rooms and production lines. A typical IPT system is composed of a primary circuit -the litz-wired track, and a secondary circuit - the pickup with rectifier. The pickup is usually attached to a moving platform, and is designed to travel along the primary track. Depending on the power transfer requirements...
The authors presented the magnetic and magnetooptical effects of Ce3+ in a rare earth (RE) orthoferrite structure based on the perovskite formula (RE)FeO3. Magnetooptical behavior was quantified by measuring the Faraday rotation and the magnetic hysteresis loops were measured by using an ADE vibration sample magnetometer.
In the present study, A series of polycrystalline chromium-substituted cobalt ferrite samples with compositions of CoCrxFe2-xO4 were prepared by standard powder ceramic techniques. The microstructure and final composition of the samples were characterized using a scanning electron microscope with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The crystal structure of the samples was determined by X-ray...
This paper presents a new method for BaM thin films having a negative nucleation field, consequently high squareness of film. Bi-layered BaM thin films were deposited by rf sputtering with high purity Ar and O2 gases on single crystal sapphire (000l) substrates. The bi-layer is composed of amorphous as a top layer and crystalline BaM films. A three-step rapid temperature annealing (RTA) was performed...
High anisotropy low loss hexagonal M-type barium ferrite (BaM) thin film materials are promising candidates for use in MMIC devices such as circulators and isolators. The films are prepared by standard PLD and post-deposition annealing techniques. While progress has been made in the PLD growth of such films, there is a wide variance in ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) linewidths and film quality in general...
Polycrystalline, c-axis orientated, thick barium ferrite films with relatively large coercivity values were grown by a modified LPE process that was recently developed by us.
In this work, a small inductor using magnetic property depending on temperature, and transcutaneous temperature control system was proposed. The artificial anal sphincter is actuated by flexible heaters attached to SMA, then opens anal canal. The purpose of this study is to propose the simple system of artificial sphincters controlled its temperature by the inductor consisting of Ni-Cu-Zn based thermosensitive...
Heart transplantation is currently the best treatment for end-stage heart failure. There is a large disparity between the number of available donor hearts and the number of people who need them. Total artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices have been developed as alternatives to the transplantation. Percutaneous leads should be avoided in long-term implantations due to the risk of infection...
This work investigates the evolution of the magnetic anisotropy of Ba ferrite particles when cooled from room to low temperatures, studying both pure and Co/Ti-doped particles for magnetic recording media. Results show the magnetocrystalline anisotropy increases when the temperature decreases. The magnetic anisotropy feature of Co/Ti-doped Ba ferrite particles for magnetic recording is remarkably...
We report the results of tests using barium-ferrite magnetic particles that, while difficult to disperse uniformly, offer the advantages of high coercivity, small particle size, and the chemical stability common to oxide compounds. We also report on the feasibility of high-density flexible magnetic disc systems employing such media and a GMR head.
In this study, it is successfully demonstrated drive level removable flexible disk drive (FDD) areal densities of 17.5 Gbits/in2 and 31 Gbits/in2 using barium ferrite (BaFe) particulate FD media and CoPtCr-SiO2 sputtered FD media respectively, along with hard disc drive (HDD) type GMR heads, a modern PRML read channel and robust ECC.
For characterising the magnetostatic wave (MSW) soliton-like pulses propagating in ferrite films the output pulse peak amplitude Phimax(Phi0) and halfheight width W(Phi0) dependencies on the rectangular input pulse amplitude and width T are typically used. So far an influence on these parameters of the transient processes, corresponding to an interference of the solitonic and nonsolitonic parts of...
In this paper a new method for rigorous modeling of nonlinear phenomena due to the instability in 3-D ferrite structures was developed based on the numerical analysis of the bifurcation points of the nonlinear Maxwell's operator. This technique, originating in the mathematical theory of differentiable maps and the bifurcation theory, is a pioneering approach in electrodynamics. The bifurcation points...
Ba (Sc)-hexaferrite has great potential in industry as a material for self-biased nonreciprocal devices operating at microwave frequencies below 18GHz ((D.B. Nicholson), (G.F. Dionne and J.F. Fitzgerald, 1991),(A Gruskova, 1994), (M.A. Tsankov and L. G. Milenova, 1993), (Cham Kiong Queck and L.E. Davis, 2003)). Here, we synthesized pure Ba(Sc)-hexaferrite by using conventional ceramic method followed...
In this paper, NiZn ferrite films were synthesized on rotating glass substrate by alkaline ion free spin-spray ferrite plating. we report novel ferrite plating method that does not use such alkali metals as Na and K, and thus facilitates recycling of the waste water.
This presentation reports on the study of magneto-impedance and dielectric properties of nano-sized NiZn-ferrite processed by high energy ball milling. The result depicts that the magnetodynamic property is attributed to the interplay of magnetic moments and dielectrics. The ac conductivity exhibits a power law dependence of frequency.
The results of the effect of chromium substitution for iron on magnetocrystalline anisotropy and its temperature dependence for a series of sintered bulk Cr-substituted cobalt ferrites (CoCrxFe2-xO4 with 0lesxles0.8) over the temperature range 400 to 10 K is reported. SQUID magnetometer is used to measure major hysteresis loops at various different temperature over the range 10-400 K. It was observed...
Magnetic permeability and dielectric permittivity characteristics of barium and strontium ferrite materials in broad band millimeter wave frequency range have been obtained. The measurements have been done using free-space quasi-optical millimeter wave spectrometer in tunable magnetic field up to 8.5 kOe. A set of backward wave oscillators have been used as sources of high power coherent radiation...
An approach to measure energy losses in Mn-Zn ferrite rings from DC to the maximum frequency f = 6 MHz is presented. An estimate based on the DC hysteresis curve analysis show that Mn-Zn ferrites have a very low value of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy. The ferromagnetic resonance is calculated. A comparison between prediction and experiments is presented.
