We report a high-power, high-efficiency Tm, Ho:YAlO3 (Tm, Ho:YAP) laser pumped by two laser diodes. The Tm (5 at.%) and Ho (0.5 at.%):YAP crystal is cut along the a axes, and the resultingcrystals are measured 4 × 4 × 8 mm3. The laser crystal is double end-pumped by two 18.0-W fiber-coupled laser diodes at 793.6 nm, and the output power of the Tm, Ho:YAP laser is 13.8W in continuous wave (CW) mode...
We propose a scheme for fast random number generation with a bandwidth-enhanced chaotic signal generated by injecting the signal of a traditional chaotic external-cavity semiconductor laser (ECSL) into a spectrum expansion module (SE). Our simulation results show that the bandwidth-enhanced chaotic can be generated and its efficient bandwidth can be greatly enhanced up to 70 GHz. Random bits in our...
An Erbium-Ytterbium co-doped random fiber laser (EYRFL) operating at 1550 nm is demonstrated for the first time. The laser cavity consists of a 5-m-long Er/Yb co-doped fiber and a 2-km-long single-mode fiber that provides random distributed feedback. We experimentally achieve 2.14 W of 1550 nm random lasing at 9.62W of 976 nm LD pump power. The laser exhibits a linear output with the slope efficiency...
Laser underwater detection technology is widely used in seawater ranging, mine detection, positioning and other fields. This article is for airborne laser underwater exploration submarine technology, proposed a kind of airborne laser underwater exploration submarine system program, the system composition and working process are discussed, the energy link model of trans-atmosphere and seawater is focused...
A 1310 nm InGaAlAs/InP V-cavity laser (VCL) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The laser is ultra-compact with a device size of only 520μm×300μm. Measurement result shows that 38×100GHz tuning range with above 30dB side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) is achieved.
Chaos synchronization in closed-loop external cavity semiconductor lasers subject to phase-conjugate feedback is investigated theoretically and numerically. We theoretically analysed the injection-locking synchronization condition and numerically confirm it. The simulation results indicate that with introduction of feedback phase difference according to the theoretical synchronization condition, high...
The dust concentration and the complex permittivity of wet sand are utilized to study the laser attenuation in sand-dust weather. The relevance of atmospheric visibility and atmospheric humidity to the air attenuation are analyzed. Afterwards, the influence of height to dust concentration and the lase attenuation under different wavelengths are discussed. The stimulation results show that the laser...
We report a detailed characterization of the bound states solitons in a dispersion-managed fiber laser with respect to the dynamics of time domain separation and phase difference. The theoretical results reveal that the bound states solitons in a nonlinear system have two equilibria, and different initial conditions would induce the pulse separation and phase difference to distinct fixed points. Moreover,...
