In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate the performance of crosstalk mitigation for 16QAM-OFDM-carrying OAM multiplexed FSO links by using the pilot assisted Least Square (LS) algorithm. Crosstalk is introduced by demodulation holograms with random turbulent phase screen at the demodulation SLMs. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently improve the quality of constellations...
We conducted the first ever investigation on the impact of inter-wavelength selective switch (WSS) crosstalk in multiple-arrayed WSSs and confirmed that it is a critical issue for an optical signal transmission. To address this issue, we propose a method to reduce inter-WSS crosstalk, taking optical node application into consideration. We demonstrate that the proposed method enables 11-dB crosstalk...
We store optical data in acoustic waves on a planar waveguide based on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and demonstrate for the first time that this coherent light storage concept allows for the simultaneous storage at different frequency channels, separated by 100 GHz, without observable cross-talk between the individual channels.
An on-chip optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) transceiver for 100GBaud transmission system is proposed based on based on 4 bit 25Gbps bit-streams at the electrical interface. The crosstalk extinction ratio at the worst sub-channel is 1.9dB with 10dB depth modulator, and the insertion loss caused by the OTDM mechanism is about 10dB.
Various kinds of optical image splitters find application in flat autostereoscopic display devices for image content separation. All type of parallax barriers have to deal with lack of transmittable intensity. In this paper we determine and modify geometrical and optical properties of cylindrical lens raster for two prototype 3D-displays with 5K resolution. Optical simulation analysis is used for...
We analytically evaluate the transmission performance through 480-km WDM transmission of 256-Gb/s high baud rate single carrier signal and multicarrier signal with different number of subcarriers employing MIMO-based crosstalk compensation. We verify the effectiveness of multi-carrier transmission system employing MIMO-based crosstalk compensation achieves Q improvement at the sub-carrier spacing...
Increasing the number of lightpaths for protection accommodated onto an optical fibre network improves reliability of communication services. For this purpose, more optical paths can be accommodated by a spectrally efficient path assignment algorithm, while keeping spectral efficiency of the optical path higher. In this paper, we propose a joint optimization of elastic optical path allocation methods...
We demonstrate an underwater wireless optical transmission link by employing 4-fold orbital angular momentum (OAM) multicasting. The OAM spectrum degradation and crosstalk between multicasted OAM channels and their neighboring ones after 2-m underwater propagation are studied.
