This paper proposes a frequency reconfigurable pixel patch antenna for Cognitive radio applications. A single patch antenna is designed and simulated for a frequency of 10 GHz. identical patches are then connected lengthwise and widthwise to the designed single patch. Henceforth the concept is used for the design of a 3×3 pixel patch antenna. The proposed reconfigurable antenna consists of a grid...
Patch antennas always find a better match in embedded applications because of their ease of fabrication, small size etc. With embedded systems becoming mobile, narrow bandwidth of patch antennas are a major bottle neck in their usage in mobile embedded applications. Here we propose a method for improving the bandwidth of the patch antenna by optimizing the feed offset position. In this paper a rectangular...
A planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is designed in order to operate wireless body area networks (WBANs). PIFA is popular because of its low profile and omni-directional properties. The ground plane and the patch structure play a major role in isolating the body and the wearable antenna, decoupling the antenna from the body. In this paper the patch structure is extended to little extent to reduce the...
This paper presents a flexible wearable antenna on fabrics such as cotton, jeans and silk. The antenna proposed is in ISM frequency band of 2.4–2.4875 GHz. It is both low cost and easy to integrate on clothing. The design was simulated using HFSS and the fabricated antenna provided a return loss of −15dB and a 3dB bandwidth of 16MHz for cotton and 23 MHz for jeans substrate and gain of 5dB.
In this paper, half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) based equilateral triangular and semicircular antennas have been proposed and designed to operate at 3.5 GHz WiMAXfrequency. Two sides of the triangular antenna and the circumference of the semi-circular antenna are made perfect electrical conductor (PEC) wall by placing arrays of metallic vias. The side of both the antennas devoid of...
In this paper the evolution of microstructures and its impact in Al-ZnO as deposited thin film on different substrates such as Si, SiO2, Polyimide, Glass by using DC sputtering at 400W in presence of argon flow 30 sccm are investigated. The XRD of the films suggests that the deposited films are polycrystalline hexagonal wurtzite Al-ZnO. The Hall Measurement data reveals no more change in the carrier...
A dual band microstrip patch antenna is designed using liquid crystal polymer (LCP) as substrate material is presented in this paper. The design of microstrip patch antenna with and without complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) is present for comparison sake. The Microstrip patch antenna without complementary split ring resonator resonates at 5.5GHz. The dual band Microstrip patch antenna resonates...
In this paper, parametric study on the planar Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSSs) is introduced. The analysis on various parameters of designed fractal Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) shifts the resonating frequency, transmission characteristics of the FSS. To see the analysis effect, inset fractal geometry is applied on FSSs for the dual resonance characteristic. Conducting material (Perfect Electric...
In this paper, we have proposed thermal and threshold voltage analysis of GaN MOSFET with AlGaN/GaN heterostructure for high power and high frequency applications. The extremely high 2 Dimensional Electron Gas density (2DEG) helps to carry more output current. Normally off behaviour of the device is obtained by the replacement of AlGaN barrier layer with gate insulator, which helps to reduce the power...
In this Electronic era, our routine life travels with the aid of wireless technologies. Research in wireless communication has been active to design the methods for wireless data transmission between vehicles. Wireless data transmission holds a crucial importance in emergency services such as ambulance attendants, police officers and firemen. The foremost aim of this paper is to design a circularly...
