In this paper, a cell to cell voltage balancing for battery systems is proposed. Batteries of series-connected are widely used in various applications. Differences always exist between different batteries, therefore, a charge equalizer is necessary for the energy system consisting of many batteries either in series or in parallel. A battery management system is usually used to increase the life cycle...
This paper presents a battery charge equalizer based on a Class-E inverter with a voltage balancing mechanism between odd and even batteries, where all of the batteries are marked with odd or even numbers. The control strategy is simple and no voltage sensors are required. High efficiency can be achieved due to zero voltage switching. In addition, the voltage differences between odd and even batteries...
This paper proposed a modular battery equalizer, which is easy to be expanded and based on the zero-voltage-switching converters that are introduced to reduce the switching loss. The voltage of each battery can be maintained with the equalizer. The working scheme is established and the control diagram is presented. Experimental results validate the topology and the proposed control algorithm.
